Sandwich Bay for a joint recording meeting with Shoresearch. A stroll along the strandline to investigate the variety of shells and other flotsam. This will be followed by an indoor session using KWT’s mollusc reference collection to help identify finds.

Meet at TQ906604, keep left along the access track to reach a small area for parking outside the entrance gate to the wood. The access track is off Broadoak Road, signposted for Shooting Box Day Nursery. Leader: David Perrin.

Mereworth Woods for fungi and general recording. We have special permission from the MoD to visit the restricted area of Mereworth woods.
Meet at TQ643554, parking in the MoD compound accessed through the gate from Seven Mile Lane.

Bredhurst wood for fungi and general recording. We have kind permission from Bredhurst Action Group to visit this woodland and meadow site.

Meet at TQ980509, the first gateway on the left along Monkery Lane, accessed from Faversham Road. Martin may redirect you on the day to parking further inside the wood for better access to fungi recording areas.

Chatham Thunderbolt Pier for a joint recording meeting with Shoresearch. A chance to investigate life on the floating pontoons on the Medway.

Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory for bird ringing session where we hope to see a good mix of migrants. After lunch, we will walk to the hide overlooking the SBBO scrape to look at waders and then around the Sandwich Bay Estate, beach and golf courses for birds and general recording.
Meet at TR354574, from 8.00 am onwards for bird ringing session.
Parking in the SBBO car park, NB. Toll charge is £1 if parking at SBBO.
