by Eric Philp
A downloadable PDF edition of the landmark A New Atlas of the Kent Flora by Eric Philp, first published in 2010.
A New Atlas of the Kent Flora was a milestone in our knowledge of Kentish plants representing a thorough botanical survey of the administrative county of Kent over the period 1991 to 2005. It identified changes in plant distribution since the previous Atlas (published in 1982 and itself the first Kentish flora since 1899).
More than 250,000 records covering over 2,500 taxa were made by one recorder, the late Eric Philp, who had an unrivalled knowledge of the county. This guaranteed an exceptional level of consistency in recording and identification.
This PDF edition comprises 350 pages fully illustrated in colour with over 1,100 distribution maps and numerous photographs (though with a plain cover and without the original cover artwork). It remains an essential publication for anyone interested in the Kentish Flora and countryside.
