Kent Field Club was founded in 1955 to promote an increased interest in Natural History, to study and record the distribution and ecology of the flora and fauna, and to promote nature conservation in association with the relevant organisations, within the County of Kent. It holds regular weekend field meetings and formal lectures and is open to amateurs and professionals alike. Beginners are especially welcomed. A panel of experts is available to deal with queries on most groups of plants and animals found within the County.

Kent Field Club field visits and indoor winter meetings are free to members (except the annual Wildlife Conference)
The annually published journal, "Kent Naturalist"
From 2024, the annual Bulletin and the periodically published Transactions will be combined into a single journal, to be known as Kent Naturalist, which will be sent free of charge to all members. This will include summaries of the activities of the previous year, including reports on indoor meetings and field visits, plus specialist reports on a range of plant and animal groups, and weather summaries, as well as specialised scientific papers concerning wildlife and natural history in Kent.

An email newsletter is produced at intervals throughout the year to keep members in touch with the Club's activities and to notify changes to our programme of field meetings and other events.
