All Kent Field Club members are Welcome to attend these meetings to learn and study bryophytes; not all are in Kent.
Please be aware the ground may be wet, slippery and steep – wear suitable footwear and bring packed lunch.
All meetings start at 10.30am.
Sat 22 Sept . Quarry Wood (West Farleigh). Leader Jan Hendey. Park at TQ 722519: Former ragstone quarry. We can expect good finds here
Oct 13 Southen Grp Mtg (Brockenhurst/Roydon Woods)
Sun 14 Oct Boxhill . Leader Jeff Duckett. Park at Juniper Bottom TQ 177529. Diverse chalk habitats including Yew trees. This side of the hill is not as well known as the other, and has not been visited by the SE Group.
28 Oct Southen Grp Mtg (Nap Wood, NT; North of Mark Cross)
11 November Thursley Common (joint meeting). Leader Jeff Duckett. Park at The Moat CP SU 899416 .It will be interesting to compare the bryoflora of Thursley, which was damaged by a recent fire, with Chobham Common. May be very wet, so bring Wellies.
Sun 9 Dec. Boughton Malherbe Leader David Newman. Park at or near the Church TQ 883495. We will explore along the Greesand Way to the East of here where the is a springline and land slippage towards Pope's Hall, and further East in Foxden Wood.

Sun 13 Jan. Staffhurst Wood (nr Oxted) Leader Jan Hendey. Park at TQ 410487. This is Ancient Woodland, in the care of the Woodland Trust.
10 Feb S Grp Mtg (Grovely Wood, NW of Wilton)
Sat 16 Feb. Chobham Common. Leader Howard Wallis. Park at The Roundabout CP SU 965649 This is acid sand common land with boggy patches. It should be an interesting comparison with Thursley Common. Wellies again.
Sat 8 Mar. Otford Mount. Leader Jan Hendey Park at Otford Station TQ 532594. Otford Mount is a steep chalk down, part Wooded.
15 Mar S Grp Mtg ( Rotherfield Park, East Tisted.)
Sat 12 April Trent Park. Leader Alan Harrington. Take Underground train (or by road) to Cockfosters station and meet at the station; parking space is usually available in nearby Kent drive.Trent Park is a short walk away with a range of hbitats and we can hope to see C.50 Taxa.
19 April S Grp Mtg (Brookwood Cemetary) The site of recently-named Lophocolea brookwoodiana.
89 taxa (15 liverworts and 74 mosses) within the SSSI boundaries sections 1 and 2.
